SOLAR CELL MANUFACTURING

Gratings, Inc. has developed a baseline turn-key solar cell processes and equipments to manufacture upto 6-inch diameter crystalline Si solar cells with efficiencies in ~ 14% -16 % range and throughput in 1-3 MW/year range. This system has been designed for single crystalline (100), p-type Si substrates; can be adapted to multicrystalline Si substrates. The principal processing steps are listed below:

	Wafer cleaning and texturing using wet-chemistry,
	POCl3 diffusion for emitter formation,
	Edge isolation,
	Oxide passivation,
	Al back surface field and Ag front surface screen-printed contacts,
	RTA conveyor belt contact annealing, and
	AM 1.5 LIV tester.

SOLAR PANEL MANUFACTURING

Gratings, Inc. has developed a simple turn-key solar panel manufacturing process and supporting equipment set to manufacture solar panels with output in ~ 3 Wp to ~ 175 Wp. Panel output voltage ranges from 5 V to 24 V, and current upto ~ 7 A. This system can generate PV power in ~ 1-3 MWp/year range. This system has been designed for single and multicrystalline solar cells. The principal manufacturing steps are listed below:

	Tabbing,
	Stringing,
	Pre-lamination panel testing,
	Panel lamination,
	Panel framing, and
	Panel LIV tester.
